The “Digital Transformation” Programme contributes to the vision for Digital Greece and the promotion of the country’s economic transformation, emphasizing the utilization and integration of cutting-edge technologies, and fulfilling the strategic choice to strengthen digital competences and skills. The Programme mainly aims to:
- the provision, to citizens and businesses, of innovative public digital services and applications, towards the digital transformation of public administration and the local authorities, while ensuring privacy, data protection and accessibility, respecting the principle of universal design,
- to ensure the interoperability of digital systems and services to further strengthen the Unified Digital Portal of the Government (gov.gr),
- the development of digital platforms to support business activity,
- the development of highly available and environmentally friendly data centers
and cloud infrastructures, - the expansion of wireless access points and the completion of the Public Sector Network,
- to ensure ultra-high speed connectivity with the deployment of fiber optic networks, and
- to strengthen the National Digital Skills Academy and the National Coalition for Digital Skills and Employment, and to meet the national needs for digital skills:
- of the executives of the Public Administration,
- of the general population, for their familiarization with the digital services of the State, and
- of public and private sector employees, of medium and high digital maturity, for the exploitation and management of innovative digital technologies and cybersecurity.
The reference point for the implementation of the Programme is the Bible of Digital Transformation 2020-2025, which includes, among other things, the guiding principles, the governance and implementation model, and the strategic axes of the digital transformation, which are organized into three (3) Priorities in the Programme, for the implementation of related interventions:

- Digital transformation of businesses
- Digital public services
- Digital innovation
- Integration of cutting-edge technologies
The total budget of the Programme “Digital Transformation” 2021-2027 is EUR 943.004.309, with co-financing by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the European Social Fund (ESF+):
